The Canadian Press reports:

Prime Minister Stephen Harper and U.S. President Barack Obama had a unique phone conversation on Tuesday.

They chatted about Canadian politics — and the killing of Osama bin Laden.

The president called Harper to congratulate him on his election triumph the previous night, saying he hoped to continue working together on a continental co-operation deal.

Harper thanked the president, saying he looked forward to it.

Then he congratulated the president on the successful American special forces operation that killed bin Laden, the terrorist leader, in Pakistan.
