David's Bookshelf Returns
It's summer, and time for some self-improvement resolutions. Among mine: to revive the lapsed "David's Bookshelf" feature. First up: Chen Guidi and Wu Chuntao's, Will the Boat Sink the Water: The Life of China's Peasants.
It's summer, and time for some self-improvement resolutions. Among mine: to revive the lapsed "David's Bookshelf" feature. I wrote over 100 of these short personal reflections on my reading during my time at NRO. They fell by the wayside at this new site, a victim of overwork. But I have heard now from a number of readers that they miss them - and they did certainly contribute to correcting my bad tendency to read too many books at the same time.
On the lineup: books about China, about U.S. politics, and the fiction I listen to via audiobook in car and on the treadmill. I look forward to your comments on the entries - and your suggestions about what I should be reading next.
