Christie Raises $10M for House GOP
If you want to raise big bucks, bring in a big name.
With New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie as the headliner, the National Republican Congressional Committee's annual fundraising dinner Wednesday night in the nation's capitol is projected to bring in just over $10 million, an NRCC official confirms to CNN.
The $10.1 million, which includes pledges from contributors, is a big jump from the $6 million raised in 2009 and the $7 million raised last year, when the Republicans were the minority party in the House."I'm proud to announce that we raised over $10 million with the NRCC March Dinner to strengthen the new Republican Majority in 2012. This outstanding fundraising effort will enable the NRCC to stay on offense against House Democrats who continue to support the failed policies and leadership of Nancy Pelosi," says Rep. Pete Sessions of Texas, the NRCC chairman, in a statement.
