Chris Christie Avoids Glenn Beck

Des Moines, IOWA — New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie says he is pleased that people across the political spectrum are gravitating to him and his message of cutting government and reining in spending. But he's just not ready to meet with everyone — specifically, conservative cable TV personality Glenn Beck.
During an appearance in New Jersey Sunday, the lightning rod Beck told a crowd at Six Flags Great Adventure that he admires what Christie is doing in his first months as governor and said, "I would love to meet Chris Christie."
After a morning appearance at a downtown Des Moines hotel, Christie did not respond directly when asked whether he would like to meet Beck as well.
"I heard that Glenn wants to meet me. I heard he was in New Jersey," Christie said in an interview. "Listen,I feel really lucky that I have so many people out there who are saying that my policies are good policies and all of those people have my gratitude. And he, among others, does."
Beck is a controversial Fox News figure who has professed a deep love and admiration for Christie's statements and agenda, going so far as to call the governor's public comments "common sense porn."
For this part, Christie has repeatedly declined to appear on Beck's show, worried that the host is unpredictable and sitting with him on camera would not play well in Democratic-leaning New Jersey where even Republicans tend to be more moderate than elsewhere in the country.
