Home foreclosures hit the highest level in U.S. history in September 2010. But will they jump higher in October?

Home foreclosures hit the highest level in U.S. history in September 2010. At this pace, we have to fear that October foreclosures may have jumped higher still.

Troubling sign: fastest increases in foreclosures are occurring in areas of the country that might have been thought less economically distressed, e.g. Seattle, the metropolitan area with the biggest foreclosure rise in the third quarter.
