Whitman Accepts Brown Apology

Politico reports:

California GOP gubernatorial nominee Meg Whitman has accepted an apology from Jerry Brown one week after it was revealed a staffer suggested his campaign call her a “whore.”

“Californians deserve better than the traditional politics of slurs and personal attacks,” Whitman said Thursday on CNN’s “Situation Room.

“But I accept his apology,” she said.

The remark from a staffer was recorded last month after the Democratic attorney general thought he had hung up the phone following a conversation with a police union. It was released to the media last week.

Brown's campaign apologized last week, but the candidate himself did not personally atone for the remark until Tuesday's debate with Whitman.
