Welcome to the NEW New Majority
Over the past six months, some 610,000 unique visitors have entered the NewMajority site for a cumulative total of more than 2 million page views.
We've welcomed new voices into the conversation about the modernization and renewal of the Republican party and the conservative movement.
We've argued against the familiar instinct of defeated parties to recoil upon their ideological base and lose the next election by an even bigger margin than they lost the previous one.
Now we're trying something even more ambitious: We've redesigned the site to accommodate more visuals and more video, more sophisticated technology and an even wider array of bloggers. With the aide of our technology partners at ePublishing.com, we're launching what we hope will be a process of continuous improvement of the site. Next round will include reader diaries and other new features.
As ever, our primary mission is political. I've just returned from a visit to the United Kingdom and a series of intense conversations with David Cameron's political team. Their warning: Recovery gets harder before it gets easier. Defeat is followed by self-destructive temptations. Political movements can lead their societies only if they understand and adapt to them. Winning is not an ignoble goal. Doing things that alienate voters and lose elections is irresponsible, not principled.
American conservatives have enjoyed a generation of success. Now they face a season of adversity. At FrumForum.com, our mission is to accelerate the renaissance of conservatism and Republicanism. Sometimes that obliges us to say things that conservatives do not wish to hear - but only because we wish to communicate things that conservatives need to know - and always in confidence that our ideas of human freedom are true - and that this truth will prevail.
NewMajority is a collective enterprise. Our selfless and dedicated editorial team of Meghashyam Mali, Timothy Mak, Jeb Golinkin and manager of the editor Danielle Crittenden Frum - our dozens of bloggers - our financial partners at Towers Productions - and many friends and well-wishers. At a time of terrible economic distress, they are all making very tangible sacrifices and indispensable personal contributions. I thank and honor every one, and above all our marvelous readers and commenters, who make our labors all worthwhile.
At least the boss is having fun. From Left to Right: Journalist Tim Mak; Managing Editor Meghashyam Mali; Editor David Frum
