Trump Denies Polling New Hampshire Republicans

Politico reports:

Donald Trump on Monday denied that he sponsored a poll of New Hampshire Republicans testing his name as a potential presidential candidate.

“I never heard of this poll but I'm anxious to find out what it says,” Trump said on CNN’s “American Morning.” “I do not know about a poll taken in New Hampshire.

“It's not something I talked about or consider, but somebody has to do something or this country is not going to be a very great country for long,” Trump added.

Time’s Mark Halperin first reported on the poll early Monday. The survey includes 30 questions on the wealthy real estate developer.

Halperin reported that the poll “asked if voters had heard that Trump donated to Democrats in the past and if they thought his high-profile appearances on TV would help or hurt him in a political race.”

An audio recording of the telephone poll has not yet been posted, and the source of the survey has yet to be determined.
