The Rahm Verdict
If Rahm Emanuel is ultimately barred from running for mayor of Chicago, will that exclusion become a metaphor for the first 2 years of the Obama administration?
Question: if Rahm Emanuel is ultimately barred from running for mayor of Chicago, will that exclusion become a metaphor for the first 2 years of the Obama administration? Won't the White House insiders now blaming Emanuel for everything that went wrong now have a chance to say, "Geez, the guy who used to be in charge didn't even read the statute governing his eligibility for his next job! No wonder we're in trouble."
I sometimes think the last service a White House staffer can provide the boss is to become a universal scapegoat on his or her way out the door.
