Reid: Not Sure Boehner Wants a Budget Deal

Politico reports:

Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) said Thursday that he’s starting to doubt whether Speaker John Boehner wants to reach a deal and avoid a government shutdown.

“Are you starting to question whether Speaker Boehner truly wants a deal?” a reporter asked Reid Thursday.

“Yes I am, ” Reid responded.

It was one of the first public breaks between the two party leaders since negotiations began at the end of March.

Reid and other top Senate Democrats have repeatedly said they believed Boehner was acting in good faith at the negotiating table.
