Pawlenty: Big in Canada

Written by Tim Mak on Wednesday April 6, 2011

Canada's Liberal Party claims that a new Stephen Harper campaign ad bears a strong similarity to a recent Tim Pawlenty commercial.

The Globe and Mail writes this morning that "a slick new Conservative television ad that seeks to present Stephen Harper as a statesmanlike leader bears an unusual number of similarities to a recent commercial for the Tea Party-backed Republican former governor of Minnesota, Tim Pawlenty, and his 2012 presidential run."

This piece was brought on by a YouTube video that the Liberal Party of Canada uploaded yesterday titled, "Harper Ad Strikingly Similar to Tea Party Governor Ad."  The comparison is a bit of a reach, unless its "uncommon" for national campaigns to utilize patriotic imagery and flag-waving.
