More Bad Strategy
Apparently unfazed by its failure to swing the New York 23rd to Conservative Party candidate Doug Hoffman (it pumped upwards of $1 million into the race), the Club for Growth is picking up right where it left off, according to the Wall Street Journal.
The group’s President, Mark Chocola is quoted as stating that the group will target not only Charlie Crist in Florida, but Rep. Mark Kirk and Rob Simmons, both of whom are about to mount Senate runs in Illinois and Connecticut respectively. Chocola told the Journal “the best Kirk and Simmons can expect is that we leave them alone.”
In case Mr. Chocola failed to notice, the two major races that GOP candidates won yesterday were won by candidates that the “Club” wouldn’t exactly approve of. The only major race Republicans lost…..was heavily backed by the group. If Republicans succeed in 2010, it will be in spite of the Club for Shrinkage, not because of it.
