Limbaugh on O’Reilly

Written by David Frum on Wednesday May 26, 2010

In Zev Chafets' biography of Rush Limbaugh, Rush mocks Bill O'Reilly as "Ted Baxter", the foolish blowhard anchorman from the old Mary Tyler Moore Show. I wish Chafets had asked what Rush thought of Glenn Beck.

Another reveal from the Chafets review:

When we met in March [2008], Bill O'Reilly still had a syndicated radio show that competed directly with Limbaugh in his afternoon time slot. I asked Rush what he thought of O'Reilly and, after a moment's reflection, he said, 'He's Ted Baxter. Sorry, but somebody's got to say it.' – p. 124.

Wish Chafets had asked what Rush thought of Glenn Beck. Tim Graham of NewsBusters alleges "jealousy" very easily. I wonder how he'd assess this?
