Libyan Rebels Continue To Push West
The New York Times reports:
RAS LANUF, Libya (Reuters) - Rebels in east Libya said on Saturday they were pushing further west after driving out forces loyal to Muammar Gaddafi from the oil town of Ras Lanuf a day earlier.
Rebel soldiers told Reuters their fighters were now in control of the small town of Bin Jawad, about 38 miles west of Ras Lanuf. Bin Jawad is about 330 miles east of Tripoli. Others said the forces had pushed even further beyond Bin Jawad.
"They're in Harawa, 12 to 15 km after Bin Jawad. We're getting calls from there and people are coming back from there," said Ghraib Anaizi, a civilian who is supporting the rebels.
