FrumForum Live Chats the GOP Debate

Written by FrumForum Editors on Thursday September 22, 2011

Tonight at 9pm, the GOP candidates will debate in a forum hosted by both Fox News and Google. The FrumForum bloggers will diligently live chat this debate and will chronicle how the candidates handle the questions that will be provided by users on YouTube.

Here are some of the things to keep an eye out for:

1. The return of New Mexico Gov. Gary Johnson. Fox News seems to have admitted that there is no reason to keep Gary Johnson out if they are still giving Newt Gingrich a podium to pontificate on. With luck, he might be able to show that not all libertarians need to sound like Ron Paul.

2. Will Rick Perry's debate skills improve? Many of the candidates still view Rick Perry as the candidate to bring down, so it will be interesting to see if he has given more thought to his answers for the round.

3. Will recent economic news be mentioned? This week the Federal Reserve announced a very modest stimulus and the situation in Greece and the Eurozone remains dire. Will the candidates discuss any of these pressing and real concerns?
