Iran Sanctions Delayed by Gaza Crises

Laura Rozen reports that the crises with the pro-Gaza flotilla has delayed a vote on sanctions on Iran at the UN:

A vote on a new UN Iran sanctions resolution will likely be pushed back due to diplomatic fallout from the Israeli raid on the Gaza aid flotilla, among other reasons, sources said Wednesday.

The Obama administration had been planning to bring a new Iran sanctions resolution to a vote at the UN Security Council on Thursday, but diplomatic sources said the vote is no longer likely to take place this week.

“I don’t see how [the vote] happens Thursday,” one Washington source who advises one Security Council member state said Wednesday.
