Hoyer: House Will Pass Tax Bill
Politico reports:
House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer said Monday he expects a vote in the House this week on President Obama’s tax package.
“I think we will pass a bill, as opposed to simply not passing anything,” he said. “I think we’re going to have a vote on the Senate bill, with possible changes. We’ll see what the process is.”
The Maryland Democrat spoke in more measured terms than last week, when he called the extension for upper income cuts a “ransom” that Democrats must pay in exchange for an extension of unemployment benefits and tax cuts for lower-income brackets.
