Hillary Ranks U.S. as Human Trafficker
Secretary of State Clinton has unveiled an assessment of states that deal in human trafficking, and the U.S. is on it:
The United States was ranked for the first time Monday in the State Department’s annual Trafficking in Persons report when Secretary of State Hillary Clinton rolled out the study’s 10th edition.
The self-assessment, which placed the United States in the highest category of the report’s three possible tiers, comes after Clinton announced at the 2009 rollout that the report would have a U.S. ranking the following year.
“We have to ensure that our policies live up to our ideals, and that is why we have for the first time included the United States,” Clinton said.
