Haley Heads to Runoff

USA Today reports that South Carolina GOP gubernatorial candidate Nikki Haley will head to a runoff.

South Carolina lawmaker Nikki Haley withstood allegations of infidelity today and advanced to a runoff election against Rep. Gresham Barrett for the GOP nomination for governor.

Haley, who was endorsed by former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, came in first in early returns, nearly clinching the 50% of the vote needed to win the primary without a runoff. If successful, she would become the first woman to win the party's nomination for governor in South Carolina.

The runoff is scheduled for June 22.
