The Hill reports:

The husband of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.) will speak Thursday morning at the annual National Prayer Breakfast in Washington.

Giffords’s office said Mark Kelly, a Navy captain and NASA astronaut, will deliver the closing prayer on behalf of his wife, who continues to recover at a Houston rehabilitation center from a gunshot wound suffered at a Jan. 8 constituent event in Tucson, Ariz.

By tradition, President Obama is also scheduled to speak. The White House said first lady Michelle Obama and Vice President Biden will also attend.

According to Giffords’s office, other speakers will include Jose Enriquez, one of rescued Chilean miners, and Randall Wallace, who wrote the screenplay for the film “Braveheart.”
