FroshUpdate: Freshmen Pump Gas for Constituents
Several Reps. who avoided scheduling town hall meetings during the Easter recess are making them up this week. Meanwhile, a common event during district work week has been Reps. heading to a local gas station to pump gas and talk to constituents. Also emphasizing energy policy are Reps. Palazzo and Womack, who are going to tour oil rigs in Louisiana tomorrow and the day after.

MAKING UP TIME: Several Congressmen who missed out on holding town hall meetings during the Easter recess and are making them up now. Reps. Chip Cravaack(R-Minn.), Scott Rigell (R-Va.) and Joe Heck (R-Nev.) have scheduled town hall meetings when they head home this week. But Rep. Jon Runyan (R-N.J.) has managed to keep them off his schedules for two Congressional breaks in a row. http://bit.ly/md2IZE

PALAZZO, WOMACK TO TOUR OFFSHORE DRILLING RIGS: Rep. Steven Palazzo, Rep. Steve Womack are participating in the 2011 Offshore Energy Tour, along with other members of Congress. "The Offshore Energy Tour will bring attention to the failed policies of the Obama Administration that is destroying jobs and driving up energy cost,” said Palazzo. http://bit.ly/lgtZME

Allen West said that even though Obama is following Republicans' advice in his call for additional domestic offshore drilling, which is a step in the right direction, the U.S. should do more and drill wherever it has available resources.
