Feingold Down 12 Points to Johnson in Wisconsin

Republican newcomer Ron Johnson has opened his biggest lead yet in his race to wrest Wisconsin's Senate seat from three-term Democratic incumbent Russ Feingold, according to a Rasmussen Reports poll conducted Sept. 29

Johnson, a plastics manufacturer, now leads 54 percent to 42 percent with 4 percent undecided or preferring some other candidate. Two weeks ago, he had broken the 50 percent mark for the first time, leading Feingold 51 percent to 44 percent. Until then, they had been running neck-and-neck in earlier Rasmussen match-ups.

Feingold is seen favorably by 49 percent and unfavorably by 48 percent with 2 percent not sure. Johnson is seen favorably by 58 percent and unfavorably by 26 percent, with 6 percent not sure.
