Dyche: Paul Win Is Loss for McConnell
At Politico.com, John David Dyche weighs in on Rand Paul's Kentucky primary victory:
The Rand Paul victory was even more convincing than expected. I thought his acceptance speech was extremely interesting in that it was wholly a national speech with national themes and quite honestly, echoing themes you get from watching the Glenn Beck show.
He did not extend an olive branch to the more traditional mainstream Republicans; although he said there would be unity, he was quite sparing in his comments toward the Grayson and McConnell camp.
[As for Mitch McConnell] it’s no doubt a defeat. The magnitude of it is not as clear – some of it comes from a national media that comes in at any opportunity to say negative things about Sen. McConnell.
