Department of Self-Correction
My article this weekend on myths of 9/11 received a lot of pushback from readers.
Andrew Sullivan links to this weekend's article on myths of 9/11 (thanks!) and cites some of the pushback the article has received.
This is the paragraph that has excited pushback the most.
Remember how there was supposed to be a surge of rage against the governments who fought the Iraq war? Yet the worst violence occurred in France, which did not join the war. And even in France, Islamic extremist violence has abated since 2005, contained and defeated by effective police work.
Correction: I should have said "most pervasive" not "worst." The French violence involved the greatest number of participants, but the Madrid train station bombing of 2004 and the London public transit bombing of 2005 claimed the most victims.
