Dems Forced to Campaign in Blago's Shadow
Alas, there is sanity in the world. A federal judge has denied a request from Rod Blagojevich's lawyers to push back his trial date until after the election.
Alas, there is sanity in the world. District Court Judge James B. Zagel denied a request from Rod Blagojevich's lawyers to push back his trial date to the day after the election. This morning, Zagel informed Blago's lawyers: "I think there has been adequate time. There has been more than a year to acquaint yourselves with the evidence."
Thus Blagojevich, the gift that keeps on giving, will take the stand right dead smack in the middle of campaign season. Mark Kirk is happy. Alexi Giannoulias isn't. And Rod Blagojevich is really, really screwed.
