Clinton, Gates to Brief Congress
The Obama administration will brief lawmakers Wednesday on the Libya military mission after the White House faced fierce criticism from Capitol Hill.
The classified briefing will be co-hosted by the Republican conference and Democratic caucus at the direction of Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio), according to an announcement.
Boehner on Wednesday blasted the White House for a lack of consultations, and also criticized the administration for not providing clear goals and an endgame for the Libyan mission.
The administration officials who will brief lawmakers are Defense Sec. Robert Gates, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Director of National Intelligence James Clapper and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mike Mullen.
