Secretary of State Hillary Clinton insisted Friday that she’s not pursuing a job as head of the World Bank and hasn’t talked to anyone about it, as was reported.

“I have had no discussions with anyone, I have evidenced no interest to anyone and I am not pursuing that position,” Clinton told reporters in Zambia, Reuters reported.

On Thursday, Reuters reported that sources close to Clinton and the White House said Clinton had expressed interest in becoming president of the World Bank in 2012, when the bank’s current president’s term ends.

Clinton spokesman Philippe Reines told POLITICO on Thursday that the report of Clinton’s interest in the job were “Grade A bullsh*t.”

But, told of that and other denials from the Obama administration, Reuters’s sources said they were still confident that Clinton was interested in the job.

On Twitter Friday morning, White House communications director Dan Pfeiffer responded to a link to a story quoting those insistent sources, writing: “One of the craziest things I have seen in my time at the WH.”
