Clinton: Dems Need Their Own Pledge
On the same day House Republicans will release their new governing document, former President Bill Clinton advised Democrats to issue their own written agenda that contains policy ideas before November the midterm elections.
Clinton, who was president when former Rep. Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.) released the 1994 "Contract with America" that helped propel the GOP into the majority, said Democrats should prepare themselves so they do not lose grip of their message as voters head to the polls.
"I think the Democrats should put on a card no more than five and no less than three things they plan to do," he said in an interview on MSNBC's "Morning Joe. "I know how easy it is to lose hold of the message, it happened to us in 1993 and 1994."
