Boehner Weighs in on 14th Amendment

Minority Leader John Boehner has given his thoughts on the 14th Amendment, and why he is open to changing it:

House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) said Sunday that Congress should consider changing the 14th Amendment because it allows the U.S.-born children of illegal immigrants to gain citizenship.

Boehner said the 14th Amendment, which he said provides an "incentive for illegal immigrants to come here so their children can be U.S. citizens, does in fact draw more people to our country."

"I do believe it it is time for us to secure our border and enforce the law ... and allow this conversation about the 14th Amendment to continue," Boehner said on NBC's "Meet the Press." "I think it's worth considering."

The 14th Amendment says "all persons born or naturalized in the United States" are U.S. citizens.
