During a speech in Tehran over the weekend, President Ahmadinejad accused everyone’s favorite sea creature and World Cup hero, Paul the Octopus, of being a symbol of all that is wrong with the world.

Ahmadinejad blamed the octopus for spreading "western propaganda and superstition" and said:

Those who believe in this type of thing cannot be the leaders of the global nations that aspire, like Iran, to human perfection, basing themselves in the love of all sacred values.

The octopus, who correctly predicted the outcome of a string of World Cup matches, joins an illustrious list of enemies of the Iranian dictator, including those pesky Zionists, the United States, human rights and democracy.
